Special Issue Call for Papers

Topic: Modeling and managing emerging issues in sustainable transport

Introduction

Urban sustainable transport research is multi-disciplinary and highly complex, involving the interplay between technology and psychological factors. This special issue offers readers an understanding of the key emerging issues within sustainable transport with special focus on human factors associated with the uptake and usage pattern associated with the new mobility solutions. Key topics include psychological and behavioural research on sustainable transport, experimental study of traffic behaviour, attitudes and behavioural responses to new transport technologies and shared economies and individual behaviour responses. Research published in the special issue will demonstrate a wide range of methods used to conduct research into these increasingly important challenges.

Scope of the special issue

The focus of this special issue is on innovative approaches, models and algorithms for traffic control, behavioural management and evaluation of sustainable urban transports. Potential topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  1. Psychological and behaviour research on sustainable transport

  2. Experimental study of traffic behaviour

  3. Interdependent choice over time and across transport domains

  4. Social and individual response to regulation and governance

  5. Risky and nuisance behaviour in traffic system

  6. Choice research based on Big Data in transport system

  7. Shared Economy and individual behaviour responds (Airbnb, DiDi, Uber, Ofo, Mobike, etc.)

  8. Human attitude towards new transport technologies (Automation, AI, IoT, energy-saving and health-promotion traffic facilities)
